School Closure - 30th November 2020

Home leanring from our class is being posted mainly on Seesaw.

There is also the Oxford Owl website that you can log in to to gain access to a whole range of reading books.

Don't forget there is also Mathletics where I am regularly setting tasks and challenges.

I have had some feedback that it is difficult to download/print sheets from Seesaw so I will be posting them here as well.

From 15th June

We are aware that home learning has taken many different forms over the last few months. We want to make sure that learning is accessible to all and so with that in mind we have created home learning packs for parents to collect from school (whilst social distancing). These will be available on Monday 15th June from 9.30am - 3pm.

Each pack will have the child's name and will be placed ouside the front entrance (weather depending). These packs will contain learning for the next two weeks and can be returned from Monday 29th June, when the next learning packs will be available for collection.

Week 18th May - 22nd May

Here is your home learning for this week. I was sent lots of super poems last week. I am looking forward to reading your diary entrys this week. I know that school being closed has lasted a lot longer than any of us thought it would and I'm sure it is feeling strange. Try and keep in contact with your friends from school as well as making the most of time at home with your family. It's a great time to learn lots of new practical skills. Let me know if you need any help with any of your learning or ideas of things you could be doing.

Times Tables Rockstars!

I know that a lot of you have been practising your times tables at home using the TT Rockstars app which is great.

Usually within school we also do written tests 3x a week. You can click the link below to find some of the sheets we use.

Why not challenge yourself and see how many you can do in 3 minutes?

Or time yourself and try and beat your own time!

For this week’s challenge you need to create your own leaflet or fact book about the Mayans. You might want to do some more research and use what you have already learnt. You might like to use these sub headings:

·       Where did they live?

·       What were their houses like?

·       What was their language and writing like?

·       What did they eat?

I would love to see some pictures of your completed leaflets.

This week Archie has done some super writing:

“As I looked up at the sky a shiver of fright shivered down my body.”

Jessica has made a lovely Easter card and Zara has finished her fantastic model of a Mayan house!

It’s so great to see what you’ve all been up to so please do email the class email address.

In the meantime please remember that you can use TT Rockstars to practise your times tables and check out these other websites for games and activities.

Joe Wicks is providing child friendly workouts on his Youtube channel:

Gareth Metcalfe from Primary Maths is also planning to provide live lessons for children. Here is a link to his blog which has more information and you can follow him on Facebook for more updates.

Here is a list of the Year 3 and 4 statutory spelling words which the children will be taught over the year and tested on regularly.

If you can practise spelling these at home it will really help their writing.
