Class Three

Our topic for the Summer Term is the Stone Age!

We began this topic with a wonderful trip to Creswell Crags in Derbyshire. Whilst there we looked at animal bones discovered in the caves, built our own shelters and tried our hand at spear throwing.

The caves were incredible to see and gave us a real sense of what life would have been like for the Stone Age people.

During the Spring term we learnt about chocolate.

In History we discovered what life was like for the Ancient Maya civilisation and how they were the first people to discover cacao.

As part of this topic we went on a fantastic trip to the city of York. We visited York Chocolate Story.

Here is a list of the Year 3 and 4 statutory spelling words which the children will be taught over the year and tested on regularly.

If you can practise spelling these at home it will really help their writing.
